Hey, Soren!

August 15, 2025 By admin

It’s been such a long week. Last Friday I was at work, and this Friday I was at work. On Sunday, I flew down to Phoenix to see Ghost with cousin Laura. It was incredible!!!!!!!!!! Before the concert we had lunch at the Sugar Bowl with Aunt Karen. She’s doing well and has a new dog named Archie. No photos are allowed at Ghost concerts, alas, but I’ve saved as many of the official photos as I can find. Laura and her friend Hannah came, and both liked the music. Right after we got out, Hannah started freaking out because Taylor Swift announced a new album: if you’re still a Swiftie, congrats! This also happened after the Amsterdam concert, but instead of Taylor Swift it was the new pope getting announced.

Roughly where we were in the audience.

The next day was very chill. I followed Laura around at her job, basically: we went with one of her autistic charges to an indoor slide park (would’ve been wildly fun if it wasn’t headfirst-only. Instead it was terrifying), then went to another’s house to do board games. Phoenix is dangerously hot these days. It was 100 when I flew in at 9 PM and 105-10 most of the time. Laura wants to move — I would too. I also made her watch K-Pop Demon Hunters. We both love it. Mom thinks the entire concept is cringe, but I will never give in. Kids at my summer camp job are singing the songs — it’s a phenomenon.

The cats are happy that I’m back now. It’s very sweet. Laura has lots of pictures of both of us in her house. It’s hard to look sometimes. One of her friends named her toddler Soren (boy-toddler) and we FaceTimed then. It was wildly uncanny and a little sad to call another kid Soren. Laura also calls him Sorey-Orey. At least he’s really cute. I love you.

I was married to a woman for a decade. In 2015, she suddenly abandoned our eldest daughter and withheld our youngest. Soren has been taken from her primary home, mom, sister, and everyone on our side of her family since she was 10. Our purpose is manyfold: we want you to know Soren's story, advacate for Soren in Eugene, OR, champion LGBTQ families to help stop abuse, and help ensure no child lives with: psychological abuse, withholding, abandonment, alienation, or parental kidnap again. These are sides of the same coin.

Letters from Sister

Friday once more. I’m feeling a little under the weather this week, but I’ve still gotten a good amount of work done. I’ve just learned my one test this year is like three days after I fly back in May (they never tell you anything about the schedule until right before; it’s miserable). Anyway they…

Rolling back around again. How are you doing? I’m starting to get airport-brained now that Spring break is coming up. Over the weekend, I had a friend over to watch Rosemary’s Baby since she hadn’t heard of it and didn’t know the twist. Nobody I mention it to has heard of it, I think the…

Happy Friday! I’m so tired. But I’m going to a campus Classics movie thing today so I must keep persisting. I went back to the V&A on Saturday with a friend and saw some different things (biiiig museum), like JMW Turner and John Constable. It was very nice. Got more gift shop items that I…

Happy March! It really feels like spring over here. Lots of flowers blooming and even sunlight. How are you doing? The school year’s almost over, how are you feeling? I hope you’re keeping at it alright. By this point in first year I was getting used to the rigamarole. The issues with the site are…
