Back and standing and awake. Anyway I had an insane thing happen that I won’t get into here happen so I am off the mental rails today. How are you? So glad December’s only a few weeks away. It means I can go home soon. Here are some photos from Athens:

Piraeus, the port of Athens. Those stones are from the 5th-century Persian Wars when they were trying to keep the invading Persians out on all sides. The wall’s namesake politician defected, though, lol.

And that’s Athens condensed down into a few images. Most of everything else was visiting sites and listening to the professor, and going tourist shopping. I befriended a shopkeeper one night which was nice. And I ate so many cheese pies. Being back in England felt like the culinary equivalent of getting knocked down heaven’s steps. I also bothered perhaps every stray cat in central Athens. And walked so much. My calves have suffered.
This week has mostly been recovery. I only got three hours of sleep last night, though, for anxiety reasons. And I got a cold. Which was no fun. But now I need to keep working again. I love you so much. Sometimes in tired, bad moments I wonder where you are like I’ve woken up in a hospital bed.
With love,
Alice
