Happy Friday! I’m in Phoenix right now — we went to Disney on Tuesday and Wednesday and got into Phoenix yesterday to see Bruce Springsteen! I am exhausted. But it was fun! We brought one of Laura’s friends (who also works with the autistic boy we bring to Disney) along, and she was very fun. It was fun to see someone without the same level of Disneyland expertise/experience in the parks. I had so many fun facts. Did YOU know that there are a bunch of buried animatronics right below our feet next to Thunder Mountain Railroad?!?! It’s very Five Nights at Freddy’s. We saw the color-themed parade which was fun. Also they’ve added more to Small World, which surprises me, given how Small World is so racist. If I were the decision-makers, I would wanna politely ignore and not poke it. They even brought back an old orientalist sexy Egyptian lady on a divan last year. Sigh. Who’s allowing this?
Bruce was so good. Laura, Mom, and I saw him in the same arena Laura and I saw Ghost in last August. He’s 76 years old but still kicking it. He threw a guitar at a band member. He spit some water two feet above his head. He went at it for three hours straight. I don’t think Bruce Springsteen’s ever gonna die. He rocks and by god he rolls. Also it was really funny to think about the difference between the very alternative young people crowds at Ghost versus the emphatically normal boomers at Bruce. I don’t think I saw a single person my age. Also at the Anaheim airport we got talking to some retirees and maybe convinced them to see Bruce too, lol. The boomers love Bruce.
Today we’re gonna get pizza with Aunt Linda and Uncle Terry and hit the Sugar Bowl. They’re in town visiting Aunt Karen. I’ll be able to talk Bruce with them. It’s very good to have some boomer interests. I’ll send you photos next week since I’m struggling with the wifi. I love you. The family all miss you. Laura has photos of you on her living room wall.
With love,
Alice
