Happy Fall! Guess what happened on Jeopardy last night?

I took this for you because I got so excited lol. How’s it going down there in our small college town on the river? That sounds very Gilmore Girls when I say it, somehow. I’m doing alright. Kinda stressed. Looking at grad school programs. Apparently Europe isn’t likely to let you go to PHD after undergrad and wants you to do a masters first instead of in the middle. Not fair! I’m not sure what to apply to since I’m scared to ask Mom. Yes, I know, I’m too old for that, but it’s not my money paying for it. But apparently Sara Hale’s gonna give her 6,000 dollars to hang out in Columbus and help her clean her house, lol. I guess that’ll help. Sara Hale has lots of expendable income. Mom says to apply to Oxbridge even though it’s expensive, so I guess I’m just applying everywhere. I have decent hopes about that. I got a 4.Something GPA apparently (calculated from British grades). Being a poindexter pays off. And with enough coffee I can probably cope with any centrifuge school like that, as long as I don’t make friends. That’s pretty much how college went: few friends, no parties, all studying. I get stomach aches if I don’t study enough.
I dish washed for a wedding at camp on Saturday. I could hear them playing Pink Pony Club, which was funny. I got a complimentary slice of wedding cake: red velvet. First wedding and I had to do zero amount of the wedding obligations! Sunday we saw a play called The Wren, which was good, if a little heavy-handed on the metaphors. But there was a cat outside afterwards which was very nice.

I have lots of photos that look exactly like this. It’s very 1st-person video game. Cat petting simulator!
The rest of the week has mostly been work and school research. What’s a student to do Soren? The stress has put me in a depressive mood. I don’t wanna get out of bed and confront it. But at the end of the day we have to. Sigh!….. Also, RIP Dolly Parton + Tim Curry + Gloria Steinem. What a terrible week for deaths! Enjoy the start of the next school year. The good thing, at least, is that you have an uncomplicated list of things to do. Unless your school is like mine and doesn’t release the assignments until a week into the school year, leaving everyone antsy and without anything to do. Ugh. Royal Holloway was baaaaad at logistics.
With love,
Alice
