How are you! I am tired today. I worked the past three days, then slept for twelve hours on complete accident. Had a vivid dream where I was Princess Diana in her big wedding dress and had a hard time moving around because of all the fabric. Grocery store is exhausting, but good news: they’ve started selling the nameless strawberry Grandma candies that nobody can ever find. The second half of my shifts are a two-person job: too much stuff to finish in two hours! I’m good at dishwashing but not under these limitations. Sigh. Also there’s no room in the place to air-dry stuff so they expect me to grab burning-hot metal that’s just finished washing. My trainer seems to have some nerve damage in his hands since he can grab metal straight out of the dishwasher — I don’t want that to happen to me, so I use paper towels as gloves. Camp is better with all this.
Most of this week has been work. I haven’t done much grad-school research. I’ll do some tomorrow but I’m too tired today. I’ve done a bit of drawing, done a bit of writing. That’s how we stay alive. Has school started up again yet? I’ll be honest; I’m missing Europe right now. Rose-colored lenses I’m sure. It was so easy to travel in southern England. The train and the tube were so good. I cannot be fantasizing about the tube though. It’s so hot down there. Also thinking about Spain too and missing excavation. I wonder how all those old bones are doing. Our tutor there does not post about it on his Instagram. I should ask him.
Mom’s started lecturing about Halloween craft tactics. I have to go. I love you.
With love,
Alice
