How’s it going this week? I’ve started work again at camp, so I’m decently tired. It’s going good though: got a free ice cream sandwich today. On Saturday last I tried to make one myself because I was thinking about them: the cookies were too thick, but it was fun anyway. Today I finished my big audiobook of the Hercule Poirot stories, which is a bit sad since I hate to see him go. I’m on Mansfield Park now. See why the job’s great?
Nothing much is going on otherwise. It’s nice to bicycle to and from work in the mornings/afternoons. I’m on early shift right now, so I get up at 6:45. However there’s always coffee. Again, my job’s great, low status be damned. This weekend I shall chill out. There was a thunderstorm yesterday and torrential rain — quite unexpected — was it like that at all down there? I didn’t expect thunder at all. But I do like the rain. It’s always nice to have it cool down. I shall go rest now: I am tired. I need to moisturize. Washing dishes sucks the oils out of your hands like a vacuum. I feel a bit mummified. But it is worth it to keep the teenage boy coworkers away from the actual scrubbing: they are all so bad at it.
With love,
Alice
