Happy almost-weekend. Things are quieter here now. I spent as much time in the free-VIP-stuff stores as possible. We’re seeing a production of Rent tonight. How are you doing? This week’s mostly been work honestly, and re-listening to the first two Locked Tomb books (very good). I’m volunteering at the museum now and went on one of their cemetery tours which was nice. Although it is still too hot out. I can’t wait for Fall. Except for returning to Thriftway (my poor hip, injured somehow, by standing for 7 1/2 hours there every shift. I can’t sleep on my left side anymore. Don’t get a standing job.), but at least I get the island gossip. Apparently a pig got kidnapped a month ago. Presumed dead. I preferred the homophobic monk scandal (local Russian Orthodox monk posted YouTube video where he says homophobic stuff in front of houses with pride flags. We had to remove the monks’ coffee brand from the store. Haven’t seen any of them since. It was a great time to work at the grocery store).
Aside from that things have been pretty uneventful. I got to help with tie-dye at camp this week. I really have no idea what boys 10-18 look like because of homeschooling. The twelve year old boys look so young. I also thought my best friend’s (thirteen year old) brother was eight when I met him. Oops. Also, glad to report, SpongeBob is still popular. As it should be. I just keep making concert bracelets in the art cabin even though I don’t have a Ghost concert to look forward to anymore. It’s like a salmon returning to its home stream. High in the mountains where the water is clean…
With love,
Alice
