How are you this week? It’s finally getting properly cold, but I’m in work so much I don’t really get to go out and see it much. I must schedule a walk at some point. But I’m very stressed and busy. The manager was mad at me at work yesterday for sitting down when I finish all my tasks, which is ridiculous. I do tasks, and I wait for more tasks. I’m being paid for the tasks. Apparently I’m supposed to go bother my coworkers about training for another job because the store is too miserly to give me a proper training day. Very skeevy. I might look somewhere else. Doctor says I have somewhat flat feet which might be the cause of my muscle problems, anyway, so perhaps I shouldn’t be doing a standing job.
Anyway, I have to keep on getting stuff for my grad-school applications together. Ugh. I am tired. But believe me, work, the great tired-ifier, is also an excellent motivator. God forbid I do this for another fifty years like my poor coworkers. We all deserve better. In good news, I’m almost finished with the rib cage for my Halloween costume (Harrowhark Nonagesimus). Mom has a giant tub of foam clay I’ve been using. The costume will mostly be piling together Harrow-esque things I already own (which is, admittedly, a lot), which will make life easier. We’ve been watching Halloweeny stuff at home in the spirit of the season; the 1940 Rebecca movie is quite good and reflects the novel well. Still fantastically homophobic (in the sense that the homophobia is fantastic in nature). I am still in my Shirley Jackson whirlpool. I wish I was delusional like her characters are. I think it would make the world more bearable. Life is already horrifying; let it at least be fantastic.
With love,
Alice
