Grandma has arrived. She came yesterday with Yumm bowls: I was thoroughly happy. Since her + Aunt Linda and Karen’s trip to the UK, she also agrees that the food is bad. Unlike Yumm bowls. She’s shown me lots of family pictures. Once I officially get them (she’s making a notebook), I’ll send you some. There’s a kid from the 1900s who looks uncomfortably like Mom.
Right now is lunch game time where Mom and Aaron and I play every New York Times game and Wordle variant. Then I’m going to hole up in my room and wrap presents. Then we continue to entertain Grandma. That’s all for today, really. The only real goal is to try not to go nuts and ignore how painful this holiday is. Mom said, just try to think of it as the day you get more chapstick. I think that’s an alright way of going about it. After all, what else is Christmas really. We aren’t Christians, and we aren’t salesmen. If we forget the memories, that’s kind of what Christmas is for, Christians and people who sell stuff. I know it still hurts anyway. Try to do something you like today. I’m here for you.
With love,
Alice
